GOD Exists

The Bible assumes GOD exists (Gen 1:1  In the beginning God … NIV). Creation testifies that GOD exists:

Rom 1:20: For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities — his eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. NIV

GOD through Moses gave the Israelites the law (Ten Commandments, …) but the Gentiles (non-Israelites) at times even did things required by the law, showing that the law was written in their hearts too. Thus, we are all endowed with a godly since of right and wrong. Our consciences testify of GOD:

Rom 2:14-15: (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law, since they show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them.) NIV

GOD has placed a sense of eternity in our hearts. Hence, there is more to our life on earth which implies there is something greater than humanity and it is GOD. Eternity testifies of GOD:

Eccl 3:11: He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. NIV

Whether one believes in GOD – the GOD of the Bible – or NOT, all of mankind enters the world “condemned” because of the original sin of Adam and Eve.

Rom 3:23:  for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God NIV

There are no “ifs”, “ ands” or “buts”!

If you have heard of Soloman, you have probably heard how he studied and experienced all the facets of life and concluded

Eccl 12:8-14: “Meaningless! Meaningless!” says the Teacher. “Everything is meaningless!” …  Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole [duty] of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil. NIV

Even though he also fell short of the glory of GOD, his conclusion is spot on.

The Holy Spirit inspired the writers of the Word of GOD – the Bible – and Psalm 14.1 makes it very clear:

Ps 14:1 The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” NIV

Personally, I believe in GOD and continue to read, study and meditate on the Bible. Also, I refer to writings from a few inspired  Bible teachers and attend a church that emphasizes the Bible and Jesus in particular. I want to please GOD:

Heb 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. NIV

The faith we need to please GOD comes from Jesus

Heb 12:2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. NIV

and Paul the apostle  tells us how to attain it:

Rom 10:17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ. NIV
